I can’t garden right now (still traveling, through the third week of August), so I’ll post about something local instead:  a local artist here in the Adirondacks/Catskills region of New York.
The .jpg doesn’t do this watercolor justice.
Last week I went to Lake George for a couple of days with family, and I spotted this very serene, pale, calming watercolor in a tourist shop.  I couldn’t buy it, but I asked the proprietor for the artist’s name and website.  He’s David Kiehm, and his site is Dead Drift Studio.  I’m pretty sure I was eying another work of his last summer, here in Oneonta — a muted print of two crows standing in snow.
I’m a big fan of all things naturalist, so it’s no surprise to me that I love all of his work.  When the PowerBall winnings roll in, I’ll be bookmarking a few thousand for barn owls, black crows and mourning warblers…
