Patience is a Virtue
I realize I need to update this blog, but I’m busy living. We’re gardening about once a week, but that’s about all I can handle right now. Writing about gardening is not in the cards for me until work slows down. (Also, I’m taking a writing class, which is ill-advised given my current schedule…)
A few garden-y things to note:
- We have taller planter boxes and are growing watermelon, heirloom carrots and (fingers crossed) hops. From seed. A foolish venture.
- We have two hand-built planter boxes on our narrow balcony, one with herbs and lettuce, one with flowers. Still waiting for those to grow.
- Keisuke’s tending regularly to our little kitchen compost bin, which has liquified and smells disgusting. Or so he says. I’m too afraid to look at it.
Lately this entire venture has fallen to the man of the house. I’m doing precious little gardening due to an up-tick in my work load. It’s exciting having work in a still-struggling economy (knock on wood), but I do miss the great outdoors and the relaxing task of taking a pitchfork to unwanted grasses. (A task we’ve penciled in for Saturday.)
Meanwhile, the fate of this blog… I’ve tried and tried to get Keisuke to update here, but he’s not interested. It’s bad enough I make him do all the actual gardening. Plus he’s too busy writing parody sports stories about the Mets. Check them out if you’re so inclined.
