Friday Moment of Zen.  This Yorkshire shot looks very much like a still from the gorgeous Czech film Zelary, which I watched 3 weeks ago. (Highly recommended.) Whenever I see photos like this from the U.K., Germany, Italy, or even Central New York State, I think, “Why did my ancestors have to leave?”  It’d be swell to have an ancestral property for homesteading and sheep herding.  But then I remember that they weren’t rich enough to own land, that acres of of emerald fields aren’t my birthright, and that if I want to be a yuppie hippie gentlewoman farmer, I’m going to have to earn it.
