We finally made it back to the garden today to finish building our raised beds. Keisuke read the bible of square foot gardening and is a complete convert, so I let him manage the process (a.k.a., do everything).   I helped him for a bit, mixing soil, peat moss and some other substance (vermiculite?) inside a big blue tarp.  He did the rest while I started painting our rapidly warping fence.

Finally, a use for all those little sample cans of rejected paint colors!  I started in with pale green and pancake yellow today.  It’s amazing what a difference a little paint makes.

Of course, we got there at 12:30 and finished at 3:30, with a temperature of 93 degrees. When will we learn?

SLIGHTLY IMPATIENT NOTE TO SELF:  garden before 11 a.m. and after 5:00 p.m.  Idjit.
